There’s never a free lunch

While the Internet and Tech World is an allegedly-free-buffet of delicacies, the number of choices we have, revolves around only a handful of flavors.

We are so much accustomed to fighting over Android and iOS, we haven’t realized that these are the only 2 choices we have today. We do have other choices, but they are so poorly marketed, that even trying them deliberately is like making all the effort to go to Antarctica and then getting disappointed to see no Gol-Gappa stall.

For many people, the Internet alone means Facebook and Whatsapp. That’s how much monopolized the market is. Imagine going out to eat and always ending up at the same restaurant where they just prepare the same old dishes but always keep the fragrance enticing which lures you in.

Then we do have the good guys. Turns, out they are not so good too.

Imagine you are given a plot of land for free to set up whichever food stall you want. You come, set up your shops, start selling your mouth-watering samosas with brilliant service, and start earning money in any form you wanted (of course, legally). After you have spent years, always being thankful to the landowner, gained a huge client base, and became rich yourself. After a few years, the landowner comes and tells you to pay 30% for each transaction you make.

While the Internet is still a free place, everything has its cost.
